If there's one thing these fan fic writers know how to do, it's finding a way to tug at your heartstrings. This fic in particular certainly got me emotional at this particular bit.

For those who haven't read it (which you should rectify RIGHT NOW), this is a scene where Dash meets up with her dear mentor, Firefly. Eeyup, the same Firefly who was originally gonna take RD's role in FiM. Why is Firefly her mentor, you ask? Just read the fic, you dodos. I put that link up there for a reason.

With Rainbow Dash being my favorite of the Mane 6, this scene actually brought me to tears (which I had a hard time holding back). Heartwarming scenes help make FiM what is is, but Brony writers take them one step further by adding more mature elements to the formula. And with scenes like this, it makes me want to read more fic from such creative minds. You don't get that from Sonic, that's for friggin' sure.
